Turn your town into an adventure.

The Great Game turns your downtown, park or island into a scavenger hunt and escape game played on phones. Residents and visitors explore your history, landmarks and local businesses, solving puzzles as they go. It runs itself, for one day or all season.

Why communities choose The Great Game

A walking tour people actually finish, a reason to visit your businesses, and an event that doesn't need a crew to run it.

Drives foot traffic to local spots

Stops can include your shops, restaurants and galleries, so players discover places they’d walk straight past.

“It runs itself and drives foot traffic to local spots.” Block Island Tourism Council

No staffing required

Answers are checked in the app, so a big event doesn’t need a volunteer at every stop.

“The digital format allowed us to successfully host a large-scale event without the logistical challenges of managing 12 in-person stations.” Tower Grove Park

Every age plays together

Families, couples, retirees and visitors all play the same game, with hints so nobody gets stuck.

“The event attracted and engaged a diverse age demographic; it’s effective for a wide audience.” Tower Grove Park

Brings your history to life

We research the stories behind your buildings and landmarks and turn them into puzzles people remember.

“Our game was focused on highlighting historic buildings during a preservation conference. It was fantastic.” Travel Berkeley Springs

Runs all season

Launch it for a festival weekend or leave it running all summer for visitors to play any day.

Residents rediscover home

Locals find new favorite spots in a place they thought they knew.

“Great theming, great way to get out and see my favorite park.” Susan, Tower Grove Park player

How we build your community adventure

Built around your place

Nature puzzles in a park, history in an old downtown, pirate legends on an island. We research what makes your community special.

Feature your local businesses

Stops at shops, restaurants and galleries send players through your businesses’ doors.

One day or all season

Run it as a festival event or leave it open for visitors to play any day of the summer.

Up to 30 routes

Teams spread out across town, so no sidewalk or shop gets swamped.

Just put up flyers

Flyers at your visitor center, hotels and shops. Visitors scan, download and play. We can also build a page with everything players need.

Puzzles for every age

Riddles, ciphers, music and color puzzles, floating AR letters and photo stops, with hints at every step.

Community event questions

Can it run all season?
Yes. Block Island’s adventure has run for 3 summers straight. Visitors can play any day, or you can run it for a single festival or event.
Can we feature local businesses?
Yes. Stops can be at local shops, restaurants and attractions, so players discover them as part of the adventure.
Do players pay to play?
No. It’s free for players: they download the free app and start exploring.
Does it work indoors?
Yes. Most stops use the GPS in players’ phones; indoor stops use a QR code that teams scan to arrive.
How long does it take?
Typically between 45 and 90 minutes. We set the number of stops and the walking distance to fit your town.
What do players need?
You only need one device per team, but often everyone does download it.
How far ahead do we need to book?
Some partners book a year in advance; others have had us build their game in 24 hours. Hop on a call and we’ll fit your dates.
